CVMS Counseling
Mission and Message
The counselors at Canyon View Middle School believe that every student has the desire and ability to learn. We believe that every child is deserving of an advocate. Our mission as counselors is to assist our students in developing the skills necessary to facilitate growth as students and as individuals.
What We Do....
School counselors are more than just "schedule changers". We provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing personal challenges; we develop and implement guidance curriculum in the classrooms; we act as liaisons between the student, school, home and local support agencies; we assist students in the transition from elementary school to middle school, and middle school to high school; we help students identify educational "pathways"; we assist teachers in developing teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students; and, of course, "other duties as assigned".
