Lynn Nielsen I've been a counselor in the Iron County School District for 25 fabulous years. I did my undergraduate studies at Southern Utah University, and obtained my Master's Degree from Utah State University. Prior to working as a school counselor I was a youth and family counselor for the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, and a CPS investigator and caseworker for DCFS. My original career aspiration to be a rock star went off the rails when it was discovered that my musicianship was responsible for the genetic mutation of several species of domestic sheep and a variety of amphibians.
I have a husband, two daughters, a chocolate Lab, and an English Bulldog. Our favorite time spent together is at our family cabin near Brian Head.
My passions include: reading, writing, music, photography, and philosophy. I believe that a sense of humor will get you through just about anything.
I oversee the transition from middle school to high school and do all of the guidance curriculum in the 7th and 8th grade. You can email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Aaron Combs This is my third year as a school counselor at Canyon View Middle School. Prior to coming here, I was a school counselor for 2 years at Washington County School District in St George Utah, and an academic adviser at Dixie State University for 5 years. I graduated with my Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Utah, and my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University. I love working with students and watching them reach their goals. I am married and have three energetic sons: A five year old and twin toddlers. I love snow boarding, playing board and card games, and reenacting the major fight scenes from movies. I also love to eat good food, but who doesn’t.
